PELCO® Grids

The PELCO^® grids are usually somewhat thicker than similar TEM grids made by electro plating processes which makes them stiffer and easier to handle without the danger of bending, but still maintain a good definition of the grid bars. The wide rim (350-400µm) on the PELCO^® grids provide additional stiffness and minimizes interfering with the sample when picking up and handling the grids with tweezers. The popular PELCO^® grids were introduced 45 years ago and have found a large user base in all disciplines of TEM. The grids have a shiny (smooth) finish on one side and matte (rough) or dull finish on the other side. Excellent quality grids which have all been inspected before packaging. Comprehensive selection of different grid styles is offered with the standard diameter of 3.05mm. Styles available are Square Mesh, Hexagonal (honeycomb) mesh, Double Folding grids, Slotted mesh, Tabbed grids, Slotted or Round Hole. Available materials are Cu, Ni and Au.

Packaging: Standard Cu grids 100grids/vial, except specials which are listed accordingly. Gold is packaged 25grids/vial.

Pelco^® TEM Grids Size Specifications

Rim Width:	350-400µm.
Thickness:	PELCO^® grids are approximately 25µm thick.
Diameter:	3.0 to 3.05mm
Finish:	Copper, Nickel and Gold grids have a matte finish on one side and a shiny finish on the other side.
Packaging:	100 grids per vial/tube, except for specials which are listed accordingly. Gold, Titanium, Stainless Steel, Molybdenum and Aluminum grids are packaged in 25’s.
Pitch:	Is 1″/mesh or 25.4mm/mesh Example 200 mesh pitch = 25.4/200 = 127µm
